The Association co-organised “The Visible Secret” picture storytelling workshop with Eslite Hong Kong. It was a parent-child reading session which showed the readers more about children with special educational needs (SEN).

Parent-child storytelling team and volunteers of the “Y-Flight: Family-based Support for Children with Special Educational Needs” Project (“Y-Flight”) facilitated the public to use the specially designed colour filters to read the picture book “The Visible Secret”, which illustrated the true stories of the participants of “Y-flight". The book not only helped the public to understand the problems faced by children with SEN, but also to empathise with them and their parents regarding their struggles and feelings. It is expected that the public can have more understanding and acceptance towards these families, and hence create a society with harmony and equal opportunity for people with different needs, talents and abilities.

The Association would like to express our sincere gratitude to Chow Tai Fook Charity Foundation for sponsoring “Y-Flight”, so that “The Visible Secret” picture book can be published and raise public awareness on the needs of the SEN community.
