Youth and Community

YWCA was founded in respond to women’s needs. The work in a few girls’ schools has transformed into the youth and community service nowadays. We keep serving with the mission to enhance lives, and provide quality youth services that aim at all-round development, self-actualisation and social commitment.

The ten integrated social service centres, two youth outreaching social work teams, two community work offices etc cater for whole-person development, special educational needs, after school care, arts capacity development, career planning, volunteer service, support for schools and high-risk youth, employment assistance etc. We also provide stationing school social work service for over 30 secondary and primary schools to assist the students to unleash their full potential and plan for the future. Apart from nurturing young people, we also work to strength family function and build a caring community, so that our youth can enjoy a healthy lifestyle and equal opportunities, as stated in Sustainable Development Goal 3 in the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda: ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages.

After all these years, we keep our promise to serve women. For example, we help young mothers to equip themselves with confidence and positive values with the career development scheme, and empower young female leaders to attain gender equality.
