During the first half of the year, Hong Kong has been in the shadow of the pandemic, and people have practised social distancing by staying at home. HKYWCA's Sydney Leong Holiday Lodge (“Lodge”) in San Shek Wan, South Lantau Island, was also temporarily closed to meet anti-epidemic regulations. As epidemic situation stabilizes, the Lodge reopens in mid-May and launches the "Happy Family Camp" package, which allows families to enjoy campsite activities with accommodation and meals at a discount price until July 15.

Earth oven is one of the most ancient cooking structures. People gather a large pile of earth and allow it to be burned down to a smoulder. Food is then placed inside and cooked. This cooking method can keep the original flavour of the food. 

It is common for people nowadays to dine out and consume processed foods because of the busy life. To let people try the original taste of the food and appreciate the wisdom of the people, Sydney Leong Holiday Lodge launches an earth oven building and cooking workshop.

HKYWCA Sydney Leong Holiday Lodge organised an open day for the families living in Tung Chung, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Association’s camp site services.
