Donation boxes in Watsons Hong Kong raise fund for young mothers
YWCA has been committed to offering one-stop career and life development supportive service for young mothers, assisting them to perform the role of a mother while continuing to pursue study, career and other possible life goals. The Association is grateful for Watsons Hong Kong’s support by placing donation boxes at all Watsons stores in Hong Kong to raise funds for the service.
A survey conducted by YWCA and the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2020 found that young mothers generally have lower level of education, strained relationships with their families and lack social support, and hence have restricted life development. To help young mums and expectant mothers aged 24 or under, YWCA provides holistic supportive service, including postnatal care and child coaching advice, skill training and work opportunity, child care services, etc., allowing them to find their worth, build new identities, and develop possible career paths.
Thanks to Watsons Hong Kong’s generosity, donation boxes have been placed at all Watsons stores in Hong Kong and welcome public donation until May 21. We sincerely invite you to lend a hand. A small contribution can bring the power together and allow a group of girls to realise their aspirations!
