YWCA, in collaboration with Little Yellow Flower Foundation (hereafter referred to as LYFF), organised a movie appreciation event titled “Together in Wonder: Enjoying Light and Shadow” at the end of summer vacation, weaving warm memories for 194 individuals from 62 underprivileged families. Thanks to LYFF’s full sponsorship of theatre rental and coach transportation, children who rarely get to experience the cinema atmosphere were able to enjoy the fantastic journey of “Doraemon: Nobita's Painting World” on the big screen.  

Gigi Leung, one of the founders of LYFF, made a surprise appearance at the event and personally handed out Doraemon stickers to children as they entered the cinema. Foster Lam, Service Director (Youth and Community Services) of YWCA, led child representatives in presenting handmade souvenir to Gigi. The gift was composed of dozens of heart-shaped cards inscribed with messages of thanks written by the children, symbolising LYFF's kind acts in spreading love and hope. Gigi bent down to shake hands and speak with the children. She also expressed her gratitude, "Thank you to YWCA for the preparation, for bringing joy and unforgettable memories to everyone as summer draws to a close."  

The movie's storyline—where Nobita travels through painting to restore a fantasy world—resonates with YWCA's mission of “unlocking potential through art”. As the plot reached its climax in the Kingdom of Atoria with the search for a mythical gem, the audience was fully immersed, as if experiencing the adventure firsthand. Participants expressed their gratitude to LYFF for organising the event, which gave them a rare opportunity to enjoy a heartwarming afternoon at the cinema with their families. YWCA looks forward to future collaborations with partners from all sectors, to integrate social services into everyday experiences, and weave warm memories for marginalised communities.
