Microsoft Hong Kong invited the Association’s Career Development and Continuing Education Department to co-organise an exploration day, to let our service users have a taste of fun with technology.

The Association was glad to nominate Lo Chun Pong, Bon for the Employee Recognition in the “Hong Kong Social Enterprise Employee Recognition Scheme 2019”.

Volunteers from Hang Seng Bank joined the Association’s Tortellini DIY workshop to have fun with children.

HKYWCA and Jockey Club A-Connect co-organised a series of seminar to let parents learn about the difficulties faced by autistic children, and solutions that can help the kids.

Urban Group and HKYWCA co-organised “Urban Group Caring Day 2018” addressing the theme “Spreading Love among Different Generations in the Community” to promote transgenerational harmony. 100 corporate volunteers of Urban Group led kids to serve elderly for spreading love and educating them to care elderly.  The joint project has been appreciated at “FSE Grand Award Presentation Ceremony 2019” which organised by FSE Holdings Limited and obtained “FSE Outstanding Corporate Social Responsibility Programme Awards”.

Sponsored by the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, the Association’s Sai Wan Social Centre for the Elderly implemented “Jockey Club Place for Healthy Ageing, Share Space for Caring Community Intergeneration Project”. An event was held to showcase the project result lately.

HKYWCA joins the Care for The Elderly Charity Ticket Campaign 2019 (“the Campaign”) to raise fund for the Association’s self-financed elderly services. The fund raised will help to provide comprehensive support to the community through the following three centres, namely Y Care Day Care Centre for the Elderly (Yau Yat Chuen), NWS Y Care Day Care Centre for the Elderly (North District) and YWCA Jockey Club Y Care Elderly Centre. The Association invites your participation to help the needy!

Sponsored by the Board of Management of The Chinese Permanent Cemeteries, the Association organised the “Life Navigator” programme to help teenagers develop positive values and attitude towards life, and to care more about the community and cherish their lives.

Earth oven is one of the most ancient cooking structures. People gather a large pile of earth and allow it to be burned down to a smoulder. Food is then placed inside and cooked. This cooking method can keep the original flavour of the food. 

It is common for people nowadays to dine out and consume processed foods because of the busy life. To let people try the original taste of the food and appreciate the wisdom of the people, Sydney Leong Holiday Lodge launches an earth oven building and cooking workshop.

Sponsored by Employees Retraining Board, HKYWCA Career Development and Continuing Education Department organised a Training and Career Expo that attracted more than 1,000 visitors, some of which submitted application on-site.

Over 10 corporates from industries including catering, property management, retail, hotel, beauty, health care etc. participated in the expo and offered more than 2,600 vacancies.
