The Care for The Elderly Charity Ticket Campaign 2018 was successfully held. Having raised a total of HK$1,038,210.3, HKYWCA was one of the “Top Fundraising Organisations” among the 105 participating organisations.

Proceeds of the campaign will go to the Association’s Y Care Day Care Centre for the Elderly (Yau Yat Chuen), Y Farm for Healthy Ageing, Chi Po Neighbourhood Elderly Centre and Cheung Ching Neighbourhood Elderly Centre, to provide comprehensive services to the elderly in need.

Microsoft Hong Kong launched “#FutureReady Month” and invited HKYWCA to co-organise the “#FutureMaker Computer Science Fun Day”, aiming to arouse students’ curiosity, and cultivated stronger computational thinking and coding skills.

Y Silver Link sets up a demonstration room at HKYWCA’s headquarter in Central. It aims to increase the elder and their caregivers’ awareness on home safety issues through on-the-spot visits, experiential activities and interactive games. Visitors then know how to create a comfortable and safe living environment for elders, and promote ageing in place.

YWCA Jockey Club Family Wellness Centre has started serving the community since the completion of the Association’s Kowloon Centre rehabilitation project. To celebrate the end of 2018, we organised a Christmas party in December and collected opinions from 90 service users on our services.

Supported by Social Welfare Department’s “Opportunities for the Elderly Project” (OEP), the Association’s Shatin Integrated Social Service Centre launched a programme to foster transgenerational harmony. A carnival was held to spread the importance of an inclusive society.

Urban Group and HKYWCA co-organised “Urban Group Caring Day” to spread care and love to the needy elders and kids in the community.

Volunteers from Hang Seng Bank decorated Cheng Pon Hing Care & Attention Home for the Elderly and organised a Christmas party.

HKYWCA organised “Street Dance Carnival 2018” at Tin Hau Temple Plaza in Tuen Mun, to offer youths a platform to showcase their talents, and to promote street performing culture to the citizens.

Bupa (Asia) Limited and Quality HealthCare Medical Services Limited supported the Association’s Ellen Li District Elderly Community Centre to organise a series of activities for the elders and their caregivers living in North District.
