Bupa (Asia) Limited and Quality HealthCare Medical Services Limited supported the Association’s Ellen Li District Elderly Community Centre to organise a series of activities for the elders and their caregivers living in North District.
HKYWCA Sydney Leong Holiday Lodge organised an open day for the families living in Tung Chung, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Association’s camp site services.
Summit Café, the brand new chic Mediterranean restaurant in Summit View, is now open! Starting from Dec 18, we will serve our guests with high quality dining experience.
Situated in the lobby of Summit View, the Mediterranean-style Summit Café is lined with glasses and has an open kitchen. The stylish furniture and simple interior design allow diners to relax and enjoy a pleasant meal.
The Association is again invited to co-organise Shape Our Future: WeCan! Programme, sponsored by the Wharf (Holdings) Limited’s Project WeCan and Social Welfare Department’s Partnership Fund for the Disadvantaged. 76 secondary schools join the programme in school year 2018/19, and students from 35 schools joined the first event held on Nov 24 at Youth College (Yeo Chei Man) to discover and experience various industries.
Y Care Day Care Centre for the Elderly (Yau Yat Chuen) launches a playgroup programme for elders over 60 years old. The programme employs play therapy to let participants achieve their training goals in a fun way.
In response to the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and sponsored by Zonta Club of Hong Kong East, the Association’s Women Affairs Department organised a programme for the students from Ju Ching Chu Secondary School (Yuen Long) to raise awareness of violence against women.
HKYWCA has provided hotline counselling services since 1984, to encourage people in need to seek for help, and to enhance their problem solving skills. The project is supervised by the Association’s social workers, and supported by carefully selected and well-trained volunteers. A new batch of volunteers is wanted!
Requirements for becoming a hotline volunteer:
● Degree holder or above, or F.5 or above with 2 years’ working experience;
