Survey reveals health as the major worry of underprivileged families in Sham Shui Po, and sounds warning bell on middle aged women’s mental health
YWCA has been paying close attention to the poverty issue in Sham Shui Po, and has conducted the “10 most concerning burdens” surveys for 3 times over the last 10 years. The latest survey done in Jul and Aug 2021 interviewed 628 Sham Shui Po residents about the causes of stress. “Worried about my health (68.0%)” and “worried about the health of my family member(s) (67.8%)” were the top 2 concerns, followed by “expensive food (65.9%)”, “high rent (58.1%)” and “expensive utility bills (58.0%)”.
