Sponsored by Employees Retraining Board, HKYWCA Career Development and Continuing Education Department organised a Training and Career Expo that attracted more than 1,000 visitors, some of which submitted application on-site.

Over 10 corporates from industries including catering, property management, retail, hotel, beauty, health care etc. participated in the expo and offered more than 2,600 vacancies.

The Association held a tour to Xi’an, China for teenager volunteers to experience life in rural regions, provide voluntary teaching services for children and visit the needy.

HKYWCA CLAP Team organised the first Taiwan tour of CLAP MILES programme with Coffee as the theme. The programme aims to empower the youths, identify their career interests and help them to better plan their future.

Participants earned CLAP MILES for an exchange tour to Taiwan by attending a variety of activities, including coffee brewing classes, handmade soap classes, coffee shop visiting and work internship in Hong Kong to acquire more knowledge about the coffee industry and understanding about its job duties.

Art Tour 2019 was successfully held at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza in March, offering a platform for youths to showcase their potentials in art and creativity, and encouraging them to chase their dreams.

The Association was pleased to have Ms. Wong Ka Lai, Kaire, Social Work Officer 1 (Planning & Coordinating) of Social Welfare Department, Kowloon City & Yau Tsim Mong District to officiate at the ceremony. Bands, dancers, stall owners and makers attracted more than 6,000 visitors.

Carrying the theme “Showing the youth power”, this year’s “3.8 YWCA Day” aimed at raising public awareness on gender stereotypes and encouraging the society to let young people develop their strengths.

The Association’s youth band After Later was invited to perform in a charity concert, which aimed to promote a world “with no disregard”.

Sponsored by The Hong Kong Mortgage Corporation Limited, HKYWCA organised the Youth Business Start-up Experience Day on June 10 and 11 at Tseung Kwan O Metro City Plaza. It fostered entrepreneurship by providing youth a platform to put business plans into practice and to promote creativity and innovation.
