Research unveils how horticultural therapy relieves dementia patients and caregivers pressure

A research conducted by YWCA and School of Nursing of Hong Kong Polytechnic University has found that household horticultural therapy can relieve pressure of both dementia patients and their caregivers when done together. It also highlighted the benefits of using the hydroponic machine, which can notify users the best time to irrigate and fertilise.

While more and more people live in poverty, Hong Kong records a poverty rate over 44% in elderly population according to the latest pre-intervention poverty figures. To provide more substantive support to the underprivileged elders whose living have been greatly affected by the pandemic, YWCA is honored to work with PARKnSHOP again to extend the long-running "Free Food Coupon for Senior Citizens” programme to more regions.

PARKnSHOP and supermarkets place donation boxes to raise fund for the Association

From April 23 to May 22, donation boxes will be placed at all PARKnSHOP supermarkets, INTERNATIONAL, TASTE, FUSION, GOURMET, GREAT, FOOD LE PARC and SU-PA-DE-PA to raise fund for our elderly services.
