Arts programme helped young people express themselves

During our community services, it is common to find young people who are misunderstood, disregarded or even rejected by others merely because they cannot express themselves well. These negative experience surely affect their development. To help young people build confidence, and to nurture an inclusive community, YWCA Western District Integrated Social Service Centre organised “See Our Voice” Arts Programme for Youth.

Professional parent-child training to support SEN children to fly high

Special educational needs (SEN) has become a sector that requires significant attention. According to the latest research by the Legislative Council, there are over 50 thousands children in Hong Kong diagnosed with different degrees of developmental disorder or special needs. There may not be a cure for the disorders, yet early intervention and timely support not only can nurture children for success and happiness, but also relieve parenting pressure and tension within the family.

Support the picture book charity sale and help SEN children!

HKYWCA is now having a charity sale to raise funds for children with special educational needs (SEN) and their parents, with Y-SENse’s new picture book “Please give me more time”. The book is based on true stories and illustrates how an autistic child adapts to primary school life. It provides a great reference for the families and schools facing similar situation.
