Fung was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder and hyperactivity disorder when he was six. He was so energetic and emotional that his mother Yoyo was once worried and frustrated, “I was always afraid that I could not keep him safe as he ran so fast. Therefore, we usually went to restaurants and the park near our home. I don’t want to stay out for too long.”

HKYWCA launched the ChariTea Mid-Autumn Campaign to celebrate the upcoming festival, as well as to raise funds for children with special educational needs (SEN).

While psychological distress is becoming increasingly prevalent among Hong Kong children, play therapy is proven a potent treatment. HKYWCA presented the findings of a research on play therapy and shared frontline experience in a seminar for teachers and social workers, to increase the awareness of children’s mental health.

With sponsorship from the Innovation and Technology Fund for Better Living, the Association launches HOPE Game Mobile App and organised a ceremony cum seminar earlier to announce release. We shared with education workers, social workers, counselors and parents how dyslexic children can be helped.
