The Association organises the “ChariTea” programme every year and gives out red-dates tea bags to spread love and blessings. Based in Hong Kong for 100 years, the Association has gone through ups and downs with the people here. Despite the unexpected epidemic, we make an effort to provide appropriate services and care to the needy.

As local cases of novel coronavirus infections continue to emerge, students are encouraged to stay at home during class suspension period. HKYWCA has launched the “Home Maker Project” to bring handicraft to the youngsters, and to strengthen parent-child relationship.

Sponsored by Simon K.Y. Lee Karen’s Fund, the Association’s Career Development and Continuing Education Department launches “Project LIGHT” for working youths with bachelor degree and aged between 22 and 35 years old. The project aims at assisting young people to understand themselves and broaden horizon, hence better plan their career.

To become an actor is never an easy task, although some people be interested in Cantonese opera, most of them can only be an audience. Thanks to the Social Welfare Department launching the “Opportunities for the Elderly Project 2019/20”, twelve elderly from YWCA Wan Wah Care & Attention Home for the Elderly join the Cantonese opera project, and playing shows with dozens of young volunteers, to fulfill their dream of being a star on the stage.

2020 marks the centenary of HKYWCA. Hongkong Post will issue the“Centenary of Hong Kong Young Women’s Christian Association” Commemorative Stamps, a set of 4 stamps, tomorrow (10 March), on the founding day of the Association to mark the momentous occasion.

HKYWCA CLAP Team organised “CLAP MILES @ City Tour” to raise public’s awareness on regular exercise and interest in the community with a running event in the Central and Western District.

In view of the novel coronavirus disease, HKYWCA has launched a series of measures since January 28, to reduce social contacts between the Association’s service users and staff. Although some of the non-emergency services are disturbed under the special work arrangement, we do make good use of technology to help.

Cheongsam in the 50s meeting Korean style fashion in the new era amazed the elderly from HKYWCA Ellen Li District Elderly Community Centre. It also let them go through a 3-month extraordinary fashion journey with a group of students from SKH Yuen Chen Maun Chen Jubilee Primary School.

Some people have been working their tail off for their whole life until retirement. They fail to adapt to the new ordinary life and hence lose passion for anything. Thanks for the generous support of Sir Robert Ho Tung Charitable Fund, YWCA Sydney Leong Holiday Lodge has launched "C.A.R.E Train the Trainer Project for Senior" to train retirees to become part-time trainers, so that they can make good use of their time, maintain connection with the society and expand their social circle.
