YWCA secured first runner-up in “Top Fundraising Organisations” for the Care for the Elderly Charity Ticket Campaign

YWCA has consistently championed the well-being of the elderly and community health. Late last year, the Association actively participated in the “the Care for the Elderly Charity Ticket Campaign” 2025 to raise funds for its self-financed elderly services, including YWCA Jockey Club Y Care Elderly Centre (Sha Tau Kok), Y Senior Care, Sai Wan Social Centre for the Elderly, and Y Farm for Healthy Ageing.

YWCA’s Y Farm garnered dual awards at Farmer’s Competition

YWCA’s Y Farm demonstrated outstanding performance at the 19th Farmer’s Competition. Not only was it crowned champion in the "Certified Organic Farm Newcomer" category, but its signature crop, purple cauliflower, also won the Merit Award in the "Organic Farming Award". This recognition highlighted the quality of the farm's products, and served as a significant commendation for the elderly volunteers who operated the farm, affirming their dedication and professional spirit.

“Project GenSHE” fosters a Generation who cares for women's Spirit, Health and Energy

YWCA’s “Project GenSHE” is official! The initiative aims to encourage women in Hong Kong to focus on their physical, mental, and spiritual well-being, with cervical cancer prevention as the primary focus of its first year. On the morning of March 8, International Women's Day, the Association, in collaboration with the CARE@hkjc Volunteer Team, held flash event in Sham Shui Po and Tai Wai, and distributed a total of 10,000 packs of probiotic samples to women. This not only celebrated International Women's Day but also raised public awareness of women's health.

“Smart & Fun Therapy @Home” won the prestigious “Age-Friendly Collaborator Award”

Let’s celebrate a landmark achievement in cross-sector collaboration! YWCA Ellen Li District Elderly Community Centre collaborates with the Occupational Therapy Department of North District Hospital to launch the “Smart & Fun Therapy @Home” initiative. Out of 399 projects, it stood out and was honoured the “Age-Friendly Collaborator Award” in the Jockey Club Age-friendly City Partnership Scheme.

YWCA trainees were honoured for their remarkable journeys

In the Labour Department’s “YETP Most Improved Trainees Award” 2025, three YWCA trainees were honoured for their remarkable journeys. Chan Hei-laam (Theresa) was named one of the Most Improved Trainees, while Wong Ka-keung and Chau Chi-wing (Henry) received the Merit Award. Their diverse paths - from entrepreneurial motherhood to photography and aquaculture – showed how young people can transcend societal expectations and create inspiring lives. 

 

"Dears & Tears Youth Musical Theatre" healed every youth’s heart through music

On the evening of Dec 19, 2025, the Macpherson Stadium in Mong Kok was filled with youthful energy, as the Association presented the "Dears & Tears Youth Musical Theatre", igniting the passion of young people. The event transformed the "emotional soothing songs" chosen by two thousand young people into a collective ritual of healing.

YWCA Worship and Prayer Assembly: inheriting the mission and looking to the future

2025 marks the 105th anniversary of Hong Kong YWCA. A Thanksgiving Celebration was originally scheduled for Dec 5. However, in light of the serious fire at Wang Fuk Court, Tai Po, the event has been turned into a Worship and Prayer Assembly, with an additional session to pray for those affected by the disaster. We hope to dedicate the event to our Heavenly Father and Hong Kong, and to provide comfort and blessings to the society.

Numerous awards highlighted YWCA’s cross-sector innovation and care for the community

YWCA won major awards for its cross-sector collaboration projects: “Smart Hub - Telecare Project for Rural Villagers of North District” and “Jockey Club BaMa Chill Club Perinatal Support Project”. These initiatives demonstrated how the Association's services bring greater convenience and a better community.
