AEON "Happy Yellow Receipt Campaign" supports YWCA’s Yo Life Club

YWCA is grateful to participate in AEON "Happy Yellow Receipt Campaign" again this year. On every 11th from February to July, customers will receive an extra yellow receipt after purchasing at AEON stores. By placing the receipts into the boxes given to YWCA, you can help raise funds for the Association, as AEON will donate products equivalent to 1% of the total transaction amount to our service users.

Strive and Rise Programme allows trainees to shine in their own ways

YWCA continues to implement Strive and Rise Programme this year. The Association has successfully recruited more than 800 students, ranging from Form 1 to 4, coming from Kowloon City, Yau Tsim Mong District and Sham Shui Po. The programme allows them to enhance their abilities and build up their self-confidence. Through interaction, exchanges and sharing with the mentors, as well as participation in volunteer services and visits, participants are able to learn about themselves, broaden their horizons, develop their potentials and plan for their future.

Union Enterprises volunteers and elderly worked together for Turkish mosaic glass lamps

We light up the lamp for illumination. Light also represents hope which leads you to the way out of darkness. Union Enterprises gave back to the community by organising visit to YWCA Mr. & Mrs. C.F. Tao Neighbourhood Elderly Centre. The volunteers and elderly worked together to make Turkish mosaic glass lamps with colourful glass pieces. 

Hong Kong Elite Athletes teamed up with YWCA to organise “Together We Care 2024”

As the co-organiser, YWCA worked with Hong Kong Elite Athletes Association, the main sponsor The Hong Kong Jockey Club, and the supporting organisation Po Leung Kuk Riverain Primary School to launch the event, “Together We Care 2024”. Mr. Li Xiao-peng, previous national gymnast, and a group of retired elite athletes attended the event to spread love and care to 2,800 families in need.

YWCA grasped two awards in the Hong Kong ICT Awards 2024

YWCA has been committed to providing quality services together with the support of latest technology. The “Hong Kong Jockey Club e-Platform to Achieve Smart Service for On-site Pre-school Rehabilitation Service” (e-PASS OPRS), jointly developed by the Association and other social welfare organisations, received recognition in Hong Kong ICT Awards 2024, namely Grand Award, Smart People Award and Gold Award in the Smart Transformation (Solution for Charitable Sector) category.

YWCA garnered various awards in “Opportunities for the Elderly Project 2023/24”

YWCA is committed to enhancing the wellness of the elderly and promoting innovative services. The Association garnered a number of awards at the “Opportunities for the Elderly Project 2023/24” (OEP) organised by the Social Welfare Department lately. “Muppet Show - Healing with Pleasure” implemented by Wan Wah Care and Attention Home for the Elderly was the champion among the two-year projects. Ming Yue District Elderly Community Centre’s "Abundant Life Project" won the second runner-up and a creative award in the same category.

Trainee of YWCA was awarded “Most Improved Trainees” in The Youth Employment and Training Programme 2024

YWCA nominated outstanding young people of the Youth Employment and Training Programme (YETP) to run for the Most Improved Trainees 2024. Rinna Mok received the Most Improved Trainees Award, which recognised her effort and motivated her to advance career development. 

YWCA produced a micro movie to tell the grief of the bereaved parents

The Association produced "A Child Who Has Never Seen The World Before", the first local micro movie on perinatal bereavement, to reveal the struggles of bereaved parents and arouse public awareness on pregnancy and infant loss. "AS Watson Project LOL Elderly Visit" shared love with 2,000 elderly

The Association was glad to be invited to participate in AS Watson Project LOL Elderly Visit again, to share love with 2,000 elderly living across the territory. YWCA's Deputy Chief Executive Ms. Emily Lee joined Mr. Dominic Lai, Chairman of AS Watson Group, Dr. Malina Ngai, Group CEO of AS Watson Group and representatives from other participating companies and organisations, to kick off the visit and cheer for the volunteers.
