Sinomax organised parent-child movie screening party

"Inside Out 2" has been very popular since its launch. This August, Sinomax organised a parent-child movie screening and invited Tuen Mun families to join. All the volunteers, parents and children liked this movie very much. It dispelled misunderstanding of emotions by the general public and encouraged people to face one’s own true feeling. Apart from the movie itself, the debriefing activities on emotion management was also educational.

New book release: Worrying Otter – the fourth book of Emotional Education series

YWCA publishes the Emotion Education Series to help children and their parents to manage emotions through pair-reading. Previous published picture books Angry Croissant, Crying leaf and Disgusting Hair were highly recommended by clinical psychologists and well received among parents and children. The fourth volume Worrying Otter has just been published in July, and explores the emotion of “worry” through interesting pictures and story.

YWCA’s ERB trainees received numerous awards

YWCA was honoured numerous awards in two award presentation ceremonies last month, including “ERB Outstanding Award for Promotion and Marketing” in “ERB Annual Award Presentation Ceremony 2023 – 24”. Three ERB trainees of the Association were honoured with “ERB Outstanding Award for Trainees” and one was honoured with "ERB Merit Award for Trainees". Another ERB trainee was awarded “Self-improvement for Working Adults Award” in Sir Edward Youde Memorial Awards.

Volunteers of China Overseas participated in Christmas afternoon tea party workshop in YWCA Nursery School

Christmas is around the corner! Many people have great ideas to spend their Christmas with family and friends. But some people would like to spread their love and care to people in need in our community. Volunteer team of China Overseas Holdings Limited organised an afternoon tea workshop with YWCA Chiu Oi Wah Nursery School. They spent an enjoyable afternoon tea party with the nursery school students there.

“YWCA Jockey Club Joyful Transition with Families” garnered two awards in Best Practice Awards in Social Welfare

Organised by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service, 2023 Best Practice Awards in Social Welfare aims at recognising and promoting innovative, inspiring and forward-looking practical experiences in the social service sector. “YWCA Jockey Club Joyful Transition with Families” grasped two awards including Outstanding Social Service Award and Outstanding Performance Indicators Award (Collaboration & Synergy).
