With supported from Lee Kum Kee Family Foundation, YWCA Jockey Club Family Wellness Centre launched the “Transitioning to Secondary School Agent 1.0” programme to assist Primary 6 students and their families navigate the transition to secondary school.

Organised by the Corporate Social Responsibility Committees of Hip Hing and Vibro, and co-organised by YWCA, the Cantonese opera show The Butterfly and the Red Pear Blossoms was successfully held at the Grand Theatre of the Xiqu Centre, West Kowloon Cultural District. Sponsored by The Hong Kong Jockey Club and organised by YWCA, the "Strive and Rise Programme" Sichuan study tour brought together 96 grass-roots youths for a five-day, four-night exploration of Sichuan. This cross-regional exchange not only exemplified the tripartite collaboration between the government, the business sector and the community but also highlighted YWCA’s commitment to actively support young people in broadening their horizons and building self-confidence.

After Crying Leaf, the Association’s Emotion Education Picture Book Series has received another Publishing Award in the Children and Youth category at the Hong Kong Publishing Biennial Awards. The winning titles, Disgusting Hair and Worrying Otter, have helped parents and children navigate emotional challenges through heartfelt storytelling grounded in professional psychological theory.

“Redefine: The First Lesson of Awakening” (“Redefine”) was an immersive experience designed to showcase the achievements of YWCA’s community innovation initiative, 21C@JC. On Aug 3, Ms. Chan Lai Chu, Assistant Director (Youth & Corrections), Social Welfare Department; Ms. Winnie Ying, Head of Charities, The Hong Kong Jockey Club; Ms. Yvonne Yeung, YWCA’s Chief Executive and youth representatives took part in a series of activities that challenged conventional boundaries and witnessed the transformation of social services.

YWCA is proud to have received dual accolades in “The 7th Hong Kong Ten Outstanding Community Services Award” presented by Lions Clubs International District 303 – Hong Kong & Macao, China. The two recongised projects - “Smart Hub - Telecare Project for Rural Villagers of North District” (“Smart Hub”) and “Muppet Show - Healing with Pleasure” (“Muppet Show”) – focused respectively on physical and mental well-being of the elderly, exemplified the Association’s holistic and thoughtful approach to elderly care. 

YWCA Jockey Club “Speech Up” is a support initiative for young children with speech impairment, offering targeted assistance to families with children aged 1-6 in New Territories West. It aims to help those in need of speech development interventions while they await government services. A multi-disciplinary team - comprising social workers, speech therapists, special childcare workers, and child ambassadors - delivers a 10-month intensive programme. It includes speech training for children, contextual teaching workshops for parents and parent-child activities.

YWCA and DBS Bank (Hong Kong) have teamed up to launch a series of volunteer initiatives, weaving a mutual support network that connects corporate volunteers with diverse groups in society. These journeys of community care go far beyond one-off services, but form a complete cycle - from preparation to implementation, learning to teaching – cultivating a culture of compassion within the community.

The “CLAP@JC” initiative, co-organised by YWCA, received the “Grand Prix Award in Driving Change” and Platinum Award, “Excellence in Impact Award” at “the Champions for Good Awards” organised by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS). Officiating guest Mr. Chris Sun, JP, Secretary for Labour and Welfare, joined the Revd. Canon The Honourable Peter Douglas Koon Ho-ming, BBS, JP, Chairman of HKCSS and Ms.

The “S+ Summit and Expo”, organised by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service, was held on May 20 & 21, attracting approximately 14,000 attendees. Located in the “No Poverty” Zone, YWCA focused on two services, “Jockey Club HERizon: Women’s Career Empowerment Hub” and “The Jockey Club Young Mom Neighbourhood Connection Project”, which shared the theme of “SHE Unlocks Infinite Possibilities”.
