The Association organised a microfilm competition award ceremony

Sponsored by Women Helping Women Hong Kong, HKYWCA Women Affairs Team held a microfilm competition and award ceremony to show the public stories of single mothers and divorced families, through the hands of the creative youth.

The Association had provided trainings on filming and editing for 29 teams of participants since last November. Eight microfilms were shortlisted for the final awards, which were announced at the ceremony.

The Association’s Wan Wah Care & Attention Home for the Elderly organised a thanksgiving ceremony cum fun day to celebrate its 25th anniversary and shared the happiness with the Board members, partners, family members and volunteers.

CLAP MILES First Trip: Coffee tour in Taiwan

HKYWCA CLAP Team organised the first Taiwan tour of CLAP MILES programme with Coffee as the theme. The programme aims to empower the youths, identify their career interests and help them to better plan their future.

Participants earned CLAP MILES for an exchange tour to Taiwan by attending a variety of activities, including coffee brewing classes, handmade soap classes, coffee shop visiting and work internship in Hong Kong to acquire more knowledge about the coffee industry and understanding about its job duties.

HOPE Game Mobile App helps dyslexic children learn Chinese

With sponsorship from the Innovation and Technology Fund for Better Living, HKYWCA launches HOPE Chinese Words and Sentences Game Mobile App to help dyslexic children in their learning process. A launching ceremony will be held on April 27, 2019 (Saturday) at HKYWCA Jockey Club Social Service Building, to share the news with education workers, social workers, counselors and parents.

Y-SENse is now in service!

YWCA Jockey Club Family Wellness Centre has launched the self-financed Y-SENse services to support and empower children with special educational needs (SEN). It provides comprehensive, quality and interdisciplinary support to SEN children, parents, teachers and social welfare workers, to build a healthy environment for kids to develop their talents.

Art Tour 2019 incorporated elements of talent show, bazaar and maker faire

Art Tour 2019 was successfully held at the Hong Kong Cultural Centre Piazza in March, offering a platform for youths to showcase their potentials in art and creativity, and encouraging them to chase their dreams.

The Association was pleased to have Ms. Wong Ka Lai, Kaire, Social Work Officer 1 (Planning & Coordinating) of Social Welfare Department, Kowloon City & Yau Tsim Mong District to officiate at the ceremony. Bands, dancers, stall owners and makers attracted more than 6,000 visitors.
