The “CLAP@JC” initiative, co-organised by YWCA, received the “Grand Prix Award in Driving Change” and Platinum Award, “Excellence in Impact Award” at “the Champions for Good Awards” organised by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS). YWCA displayed how “SHE unlocks infinite possibilities” at S+ Expo

The “S+ Summit and Expo”, organised by the Hong Kong Council of Social Service, was held on May 20 & 21, attracting approximately 14,000 attendees. Located in the “No Poverty” Zone, YWCA focused on two services, “Jockey Club HERizon: Women’s Career Empowerment Hub” and “The Jockey Club Young Mom Neighbourhood Connection Project”, which shared the theme of “SHE Unlocks Infinite Possibilities”.

Young mothers completed pre-employment training and shared touching moments at graduation ceremony

YWCA organised “Pre-employment Training and Internship Programme for Event Coordinators” for young mothers from January to May, sponsored by Zonta Club of The New Territories. Trainees shared their reflections on personal growth with representatives from the sponsoring organisation and fellow participants at the graduation ceremony, creating a warm and touching vibe.

YWCA organised screening of “Montages of a Modern Motherhood” to honour mothers

On the eve of Mother's Day, YWCA organised a film screening of “Montages of a Modern Motherhood” followed by a sharing session featured director Oliver Chan, lead actress Hedwig Tam, and lead actor Siuyea Lo. They explored the challenges faced by new mothers, division of parental roles, women's empowerment, community support, etc.

Waihong volunteers empowered young mothers by forging paths to self-reliance

In celebration of its 60th anniversary, Waihong Services Group held a resin and mobile phone strap workshop, inviting three ladies from the Association’s "Career and life development supportive service for young mothers" to be instructors. The event combined skills transfer with social care, allowing young mothers to practice their skills through teaching while promoting interaction between the company and the community.

YWCA Warehouse Support allows young people with ASD to showcase their talent in Citybus event

YWCA Warehouse Support was invited by Citybus to set up a charity booth in the “Best Bus Captain of the Year 2024”. Young people with ASD showcased their talents with a variety of products and quick drawing service. The booth received positive feedbacks from the guests and Citybus bus captains.
